I have learned so much from the CEP classes I have taken so far and cannot wait to learn more! Looking back at my reflection from CEP 811 I have definitely been working toward my goal. My goal was to learn more technologies I can use in my teaching to help enhance lessons and increase student achievement. I have learned so many technologies in this course and the other course I am taking currently. Here is a word cloud I have created to show the technologies I have learned so far.
In this course I have been able to try many new technologies I have never used before. I have created a podcast to reflect on this more. http://www.box.com/s/rb9dyq0o2tbmpzavobpg
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteAfter listening to your podcast, I completely agree with you that Jing is an amazing tool. I had never used it before CEP 812, but I can see myself using it often after I get done with MAET.
I contemplated using GarageBand to create podcasts too because I heard it was easier than Audacity for children. However, unfortunately my school does not have Mac computers so it wouldn’t be a program that would could benefit my students.
How do you enjoy Haiku? I have never used Haiku, but I plan to try using it in the future because I have heard positive feedback from it from numerous classmates.
It was great learning with you this semester! I am sure we will find ourselves in another class again over the course of MAET!
I really enjoyed your Word Cloud. I think that would be a tool that my students would really enjoy. I like how it visually made connections between material and represented them very well. I also was impressed with Jing and the implications in my teaching that it could have. I think the idea that my students could watch a screencast of difficult content and hear me explain them, sounds like a wonderful idea. I greatly enjoyed working with you this class, and look forward to doing so again in the future.
ReplyDeleteNice use of music at the beginning and end of your podcast.
ReplyDeleteI like how you used both a word cloud and a podcast. Nice representation for your plan.
It is great to hear that you were able to learn from your group members. I'm sure they were able to learn from you, too.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your future plans.
This is a really good podcast! Do you find it easier to use garageband than Audacity? I played with both, but always tend toward Audacity. It is very evident that you have learned a lot! It has been great working with you throughout this course. What is haiku? I'd love to hear more about your 820 project and what course you are creating. I love Wordle! It is a personal favorite! I let students do that for their spelling words, we make them for brainstorming about a topic (the K part of KWL), what we have learned, and also just for our vocabulary words or word sorts. I am really hoping that site develops more for a saving option as well as more editing choices, such as dragging and dropping words to position or change size once you are viewing it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with me this semester! Keep in touch and best of luck!
